DUNDEE JULY 2012
The 2012 Dundee July was held in Dundee on the 21 July. Team Coastal were there at the invitation of The Dept of Sports and Recreation, to monitor the horses and to make sure the horses are fit to compete in the event. The CHCU have been assisting the rural horses by doing pre Race clinics in most of the areas in KZN. We have noticed that there has been a steady inprovement in the condition and standards of these horses, over the past four years that we have been involved in this event. This year I was quiet emotional when the first horses went out to run they all looked so good and this was confirmation that all the efforts Team Coast have put into raising the standard are really working. Team Coastal this year was again assisted by Dr Ashley Owen a Vet from Dundee. The day went off very well. There were 184 horses entered for the event. CHCU, with the help of Vet Dr Ashley Owen, disqualified 8 horses that were not fit to run. We would like to thank the Dept of Sports and Recreation and event organisers for working with the CHCU to help improve the standards of the horses competing at this event.
